Description
The name “Mangiafuoco” for this mostarda is inspired by the Pinocchio character Mangiafuoco, also known as Stromboli.
After two years of experimentation with traditional mustard recipes, we have created a completely original product: free from synthetic mustard flavouring, and without added colourings or preservatives in our production process (although they are present in the candied fruit we use).
Our production method is very meticulous: the fruit is candied, then cooled before the crucial and delicate stage of adding the spicy flavour. Instead of mustard, we add Habanero chilli peppers.
Habanero is a natural ingredient and the hottest chilli in the world, which we are the first to use in mostarda production.
Because it is natural, Habanero offers two valuable benefits: the heat is concentrated and stays on the tongue rather than irritating the eyes and nose. Also, unlike synthetic mustard flavouring, which tends to fade after a few months, Habanero’s spiciness remains stable throughout the product’s shelf life of 36 months.
